A management engineering student’s company has raised $2.3 million in seed financing to help fuel its Ontario expansion.
Aaron Paul and Waterloo science alumnus Jaden Pereira co-founded TyltGO to connect couriers to retail clients that range from meal kit providers, florists and pharmacies.
The Industry 4.0 student team recently ran the third annual "I4 Case Competition". The compeititon reached 158 participants, organized in 36 teams from high-schools across Canada, who competed for $2000 in prize money.

Management Sciences professor Hossein Abouee Mehrizi was recently featured by the CBC on the challenges of vaccine logistics. According to Prof. Mehrizi, the design of a cold supply chain needs to take into account the limited supply of vaccines coming to Canada by having a "really good demand estimation for each reagion".

Sweat Free Apparel, a start-up founded by management engineering alum Chanakya Ramdev (BASc 2015) recently landed a deal to produce 10,000 reusable, waterproof (and sweat free) masks for Metrolinx staff.

Since the closing of campus in late March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, University of Waterloo instructors have pivoted to remote teaching as an alternative mode of instruction. The Department of Management Sciences (MSCI) was quick to react and adapt to this significant change through collaborative approaches and disciplinary strategies.
