The School of Planning acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations of the Grand River.
In addition to our regular faculty complement, the School commonly draws on sessional instructors, many of them registered professional planners, to teach courses relating to specific areas of professional expertise and to substitute in case of faculty leaves. The School of Planning offers our sincere congratulations to 2014 Alumni Rukshan de Silva for receiving the Young Planner of the Year award in New South Wales! Rukshan also completed a Master of Economic Development and Innovation (MEDI) at Waterloo before
embarking on his very successful career in both the private (HOK) and public (Town of Halton) sectors.

The School of Planning is very pleased to announce that Kevin Curtis joined our team as of September 1, 2016, taking on the Faculty position of "Planning Lecturer". Kevin is an accomplished Planning professional with a tremendous range of practical and academic experience.
The International Council on Monuments and Sites Canada has selected School of Planning master's student Ashley Rudkevitch as one of two winners of their 2016 juried award.
The School of Planning welcomes Olivier Roy-Baillargeon to the School of Planning and extends congratulations for receiving the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship!
Olivier will be working closely with Dr. Pierre Filion to develop his research on transportation and land use Planning.
World Town Planning Day celebrates the role of the planning profession in creating livable communities. It is celebrated annually in more than 30 countries on four continents and has been celebrated for over 55 years.
The AGP Brown Bag lunches have long been an excellent venue for facilitating student-faculty interaction, and contribute positively to the intellectual environment in the School. In conjunction with the AGP, the School is pleased to present the lunch speaker series for the fall term!
