Hilary Foulkes

Ms. Hilary Foulkes began her career over 30 years ago as a geologist working in remote mining camps and on oil drilling rigs.  Engaged in a variety of roles in prominent oil and gas companies, energy trusts and investment companies, her career has evolved from the technical application of geosciences in hydrocarbon resource capture to the strategic; negotiating international resource-based joint ventures. 

Most recently, Ms. Foulkes was the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Penn West Exploration, one of Canada’s largest oil producers. Hilary has a unique perspective on life and leadership in Canada’s oil patch. A Deloitte Women of Influence speaker, she is a committed mentor and passionate promoter of both science and education.  She participates in many public education events, volunteers with local schools and was recognized for her service receiving the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists’ Volunteer Award.
