Program: Honours Science, Medical Physiology Minor
Year: 3
Stream of study: Regular
Pronouns: He/Him
Career goal: Geriatrician (or any kind of doctor really, it's up in the air)
How I get involved: I take part in school clubs and extracurriculars, mainly through the UW Pre-Medical Society and basketball intramurals, respectively. It's a lot of fun, and the connections I've made through these activities have really been the basis of my support system during my time here.
Why I love my program
Honours Science offers a level of flexibility and customization that is unmatched by any other science program I've ever seen. There are very few true prerequisites, so you're allowed a massive amount of freedom in your course selection, which is extremely helpful when you're aiming to go to a professional school. If there's ever a course that doesn't interest you or is known to be particularly difficult, you don't have to take it. If there's ever a course that does catch your eye, you'll always have space for it because you don't have to worry about following a course sequence.
Why University of Waterloo?
UWaterloo is the school my brother went to, and it had always felt really familiar because of that. It's close to home, and I always aligned with the work-focused attitude that the school embodied.
