Program: Science and Aviation
Year: 2
Stream of study: Regular
Pronouns: She/Her
Career goal: My goal is to become an airline pilot in the future. I would like to work in flying operations up north or fly for private charters to gain hours after graduation.
How I get involved: When I started at the university in my first year, I decided I wanted to get involved in activities all over campus. I am the Events Coordinator for the University of Waterloo Aviation Society and volunteer at the Waterloo Wellington Flight Center and other aviation events. Finally, I volunteered for the university as a Warriors Coordinator for Orientation and am now a Science Ambassador.
Why I love my program
The Science and Aviation program is the best of both worlds. I get to work on getting my license to become an airline pilot, with the additional benefit of getting an Integrated CPL. I also get to study sciences here at the university, where I can take many interesting classes with first-hand learning opportunities. This program is also amazing for getting to meet like-minded people, and as it is a small program, you get to know everyone very well and can make great friends and connections.
Why University of Waterloo?
I chose the University of Waterloo because of this program. I applied to both the Geography and Science Aviation programs, but I chose Science as it was better suited for me. The affiliation with the Waterloo Wellington Flight Center also significantly influenced my decision. Getting to work on my commercial license in an integrated program, while also getting a science degree was the best decision.
