Program: Biomedical Sciences with Psychology Minor

Year: 3

Stream of study: Regular

Pronouns: He/Him

Career goal: Medicine!!!

How I get involved: I've been lucky to get involved in a bunch of different things at Waterloo! I’m part of Science Society, where I help out with events and student life, and I’ve also been really involved with Science Orientation as both a leader and team captain. Obviously I'm a Science Ambassador, which means I get to connect with future students and share what life in Science is like. On the more academic side, I’ve been a Chemistry TA and I’m also working as a Research Assistant in a psych lab, which have both been really cool!

Why I love my program

When I first applied, I didn’t even really know what Biomedical Science was, I just thought it sounded cool. What I’ve grown to love about the program is the freedom it gives me to explore different courses while still covering all the prerequisites I need for professional school. Plus, it’s definitely a bonus that we get priority access to a lot of the popular courses!

Why University of Waterloo?

Having grown up and done all my schooling in K-W, choosing Waterloo felt like the natural next step. I’d heard from so many alumni about how their UW degree opened doors, and I wanted to be part of that. The university is also finally getting the global recognition it deserves for excellence in so many areas. For me, it was the perfect balance, I get to stay close to home while still enjoying the full university experience.
