Why I love my program
I love Materials and Nanosciences because we learn a bit of everything! You can never get bored with so many different chemistry, physics, math and materials science courses (AND LABS!!). I'm a big chemistry nerd who likes quantum mechanics, but I also value having a large skillset. Also, all of my peers are so passionate about various aspects of our field of study so we're always having interesting conversations - some of us are like quantum, others enjoy electrochemistry or even nanobiophysics. Our academic advisor Dr. Rick Marta is also very helpful in guiding us and is very involved in our society events, which makes being an MNS student very fun!
Why University of Waterloo?
I mainly chose Waterloo for its strong co-op program! Being able to alternate between learning key concepts on study terms and applying that knowledge in different work experiences would help me figure out what I like and don't like, and learn many skills you can't learn by spending all your time in a classroom.
