Program: Honours Science

Year: 3

Stream of study: Regular

Pronouns: She/Her

Career goal: Pharmacist!

How I get involved: This year I was an science orientation leader, working specifically as an Scieye leader! Furthermore, I am on the Residence council where i can organize events for students living in residence. Additionally, I am a volunteer with science outreach and will be participating in their chemistry lab days! I am also part of the pre-pharmacy club, the boba club and the UW hiphop club (all as general members!).

Why I love my program

I love my program because it provides me the customization and freedom to pick the courses that I need for pharmacy while allowing me to not have to do the courses that I do not like, or do not necessarily need. Furthermore, it is filled with plenty of course options and plenty of space for electives, so I am able to explore my interests further!

Why University of Waterloo?

I chose the university of Waterloo initially because of their pharmacy program and the structural difference of their program versus other schools. However, once I dug further into the life science programs, I was drawn to the structure of the programs and the freedom the Honours science program provides. The program doesn't have a co-op. However, it still provides many opportunities for hands-on learning with many different high-technology labs. Furthermore, I appreciate the 2-year undergrad program offered to those who want to apply to pharmacy in their second year, as it is a faster way to achieve my goal.
