Program: Honours Science and Aviation, Chemistry Minor, French Minor
Year: 4
Stream of study: Regular
Pronouns: She/Her
Career goal: My end goal is to become a commercial airline pilot, but after graduation I would probably like to start off flying up north and exploring that part of Canada.
How I get involved: Throughout my time here I've tried to get involved in various ways! I've been involved in aviation as an Exec of both the UW Aviation Society and Waterloo Winged Warriors, and by volunteering at the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre. I've been involved in science as a Science Ambassador Team Lead, a Faculty of Science Orientation Leader, and a Let’s Talk Science Outreach Volunteer. Finally, I like to fill my time outside of that with my two jobs as a Campus Housing Residence Life Don and a Waterloo Campus Ambassador.
Why I love my program
This program has everything that I was looking for! I get to pursue my passion for science and aviation - both of the subjects I absolutely adore - without having to sacrifice one for the other. The other big plus that I realized after entering my first year in this program is the tight-knit and friendly community that there is. I get to spend time with peers who are equally passionate and motivated, which constantly pushes me to give my 110% everyday. It couldn't have gotten any better than this!
Why University of Waterloo?
The most compelling factor that pushed me to choose the University of Waterloo is that it is the only university that offers this unique program where I can study science while simultaneously doing my flight training, and when I graduate I get a degree and my Commercial Pilot's License. Moreover, the community here is so welcoming and supportive that you will always find support systems to help you succeed. There's also so many ways for me to get involved in different things!
