Call for Members: Dean of Engineering Nominating Committee

Mary Wells will be ending her first term as Dean of Engineering on June 30, 2025 and has indicated her willingness to be considered for a second term. The Vice-President, Academic & Provost is forming a nominating committee under Policy 45. In addition to a staff member elected by and from among staff in the Faculty of Engineering, the policy calls for one staff member “appointed by the Staff Association, normally from the Faculty concerned.”

This call for nominations is to fill the appointed position from our membership. For more information, please refer to Policy 45, The Dean of a Faculty.

What’s involved

The Committee is anticipated to have its first meeting in August and could complete its work as early as December, or as late as June 2025. Committee members will need to allot approximately 9 hours for attending and preparing for meetings, and another 5-10 hours to conduct assigned direct consultations with a partner from the Nominating Committee.
