Student awards distributed

Drum roll please!

UWSA distributed $14,000 to deserving Grad and Undergrad students recently.

The UWSA, in partnership with the ECU – A Division of WFCU Credit Union (formerly “Education Credit Union”) provides several awards valued at $500 or $1000 each:

• $1000 awards for recipients who receive the UW tuition benefit of 50% or less (Policy 24) or who do not qualify for tuition benefits at all.
• $500 awards for recipients who receive the UW tuition benefit of 100% (Policy 4).

Award selection is be based on academic merit (minimum 70% cumulative average) combined with contributions to the University or the community through extracurricular or volunteer activities.

Awards are distributed equitably among graduate and undergraduate students based on enrolment and/or award application numbers.

Eligibility for these awards requires that the recipient be a full or part-time student in a degree program at UWaterloo and a member of the University of Waterloo Staff Association (UWSA) or be the spouse, child, grandchild or dependent of a UWSA member.

The application annual deadline is November 15.
