Professor James Skidmore has recently written a report on implementing open education policy at Ontario’s colleges and universities. Commissioned by eCampusOntario, the report confirms that one of the main obstacles to open educational resources and practices (OER/P) is career-oriented: the investment of time and effort is thought to hurt one’s chances for tenure and promotion. Skid will summarize the report’s key findings and recommendations, many of which encourage the coordination of stakeholder advocacy to improve OER/P adoption. Thursday, March 7, 1:30–2:30 p.m., DC 1304.
ECampus Ontario is offering daily 50-minute webinars on topics ranging from how to use Pressbooks, to how students have experienced OER in the classroom.
