Chef Sean graduated from the Culinary Management Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa and completed his apprenticeship at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technologies in Calgary. He has worked in all facets of the business, from fast food to roadhouse style to 5-star fine dining. He has also worked in buffets and banquets from as little as 5 people to as many as 3000 people.
Comfort foods, Italian food and BBQ are some of Sean’s favourite things to cook up and eat and when it comes to a great deli sandwich, he can’t resist. He started working out west at the Banff springs hotel, where he lived and worked for 3 years during his apprenticeship. He also was a chef in Niagara Falls as well as Ottawa for a while before he came to Waterloo. The stability that the University provided was one of the main reasons he joined the UW Food Services team. On top of that, Sean appreciated the opportunity to utilize all his strengths from past food establishments.
Throughout his career, Chef Sean has achieved amazing things. His main accomplishment was being awarded an honourable mention at a NACUFS conference in 2007 for a Valentines themed event in the large school category.
