Meet the Chefs!

Chef Denise graduated from The Culinary Institute of Canada in Charlottetown PEI. Growing up Denise was always in the kitchen, trying new recipe’s and always baking. On a school field trip, she went to The Culinary Institute of Canada, from then on, Denise knew that is where she wanted to be. Growing up on PEI there were always fresh ingredients from the big vegetable garden on her family's property, fresh seafood, and shellfish. Learning to preserve was a great aspect of having that vegetable garden.

Chef Denise enjoys cooking and eating anything as long as it is fresh, healthy, and cooked well. But if she had to choose a thin crust wood-fired pizza with fresh toppings would be her favourite! She has mainly stayed within North America and started with the University of Waterloo at The University Club. She also worked in Residences and is currently a Chef in Cash Operations. She chose to work in UW Food Services because of her love for interacting with customers, fascinated by the conversations made especially with students. She found it very rewarding to meet first-year students while working at V1, then see them a few years later on-campus or graduating as they move on and excel in their chosen field.
