Applied Health Sciences (Health) Endowment Fund (AHSEF)
The AHSEF Board of Directors is responsible for the termly operations of the endowment fund including raising awareness, promoting submission deadlines, and voting on which proposals receive funding. There are a variety of roles available within AHSEF each term (including spring).

Association of Health Students Undergraduate Members (AHSUM)
AHSUM is the student society that serves Health undergraduate students. They run events, offer academic services and operate to represent the Faculty's student body at various committee meetings across campus. There are a variety of roles available within AHSUM. Elections occur each winter term with by-elections to fill vacant positions on a termly basis.

weCONNECTu
weCONNECTu is the Faculty of Health Peer Mentorship program run by students for students. Services offered by weCONNECTu mentors (student volunteers) include study sessions, workshops, and one-to-one peer mentoring for new students.
Recruitment occurs between the winter and spring terms. Interested students should monitor the mentor application form during the winter and spring term for applications.

Grad Formal Committee
Each year, students in the Faculty of Health plan a grad formal to celebrate the graduating class. The Grad Formal Committee forms around October to November each year and Health students from all years can be on the committee.
Interested students should email the Student Relations Officer during the fall term.
Orientation
Faculty of Health Waterloo Orientation Team
The Waterloo Orientation Team members are responsible for the planning and execution of First-Year Orientation. This is a senior leadership position and Orientation experience is strongly recommended. Hiring takes place in the fall term.
Applications are now open! Students interested in applying should review the role description and online application form. The deadline to apply is Monday, December 2 at 11:59 p.m.

Faculty of Health Orientation Leaders
Orientation week is a fantastic way to meet other students and help welcome new students to the Faculty of Health. Applications for Orientation Leaders typically open up in March.

Volunteer for the Faculty of Health
Centre for Community, Clinical and Applied Research Excellence (CCCARE)
CCCARE offers a variety of in-person and remote fitness programs serving many populations within our community. Programs seeking volunteers include UW WELL-FIT, Brain and Body, Hardy Hearts, and STEPS for cancer, dementia, cardiovascular disease and stroke clients, respectively. Volunteer recruitment occurs prior to the start of each school term, with new cycles starting each term.

Athletic therapy
Student trainers are essential volunteers of the UWaterloo Athletic Therapy clinic and Inter-university Sport. Responsibilities include immediate injury assessment and care; pre-event taping, wrapping, and stretching; and athlete injury prevention. Interested applicants will need to complete the application form and submit a resume.
Move Your Mind
Move Your Mind aims to help students experience the physical, emotional, mental, and cognitive benefits of physical activity by helping to break down barriers preventing participation. In this peer-to-peer program, participants are encouraged to get moving by finding something they really enjoy, and support is provided to navigate the opportunities available. This program provides resources to encourage healthy living, support for accountability and motivation, and a sense of community where participants of all abilities and interest are welcomed.

Faculty of Health ambassador team
Faculty of Health Ambassadors are responsible for representing their program and faculty at recruitment open houses, events, and initiatives. Individuals in this role interact with prospective undergraduate students to provide them with personal, engaging, informational, and positive connections to their program(s) of interest, the Faculty of Health, and the University of Waterloo. Volunteer recruitment occurs between the winter and spring terms.

Open houses
Current Health undergraduate students are always needed to help out at open houses for future undergraduate students. Open houses are typically held on a Saturday and there are four opportunities throughout the year: early November, mid March, late May, and at a welcome event for new students in July.
The open house volunteer sign up form typically opens one month before each event. Interested students should reach out to the Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinator for details.
