UWO Staff Association to hold a strike vote Oct 5

The UWO Staff Association (a union which represents nearly 1000 staff working in faculties and admin units across campus) is holding a general meeting on October 5 at which they’ll hold a strike vote. Their contract expired June 30.

The UWO Faculty Association is currently in the midst of a strike vote – they’re holding it Wed-Friday of this week.

Nomination Update

I am pleased to announce that the election committee has received and verified the applications for the following positions:

Sheila McConnell
Mike Patterson
Darlene Ryan
Jeremy Steffler
Michael Tennant

The polls will open on Wednesday October 6, 2010 and close on Thursday October 21, 2010. The election results will be made official at the AGM Thursday October 28, 2010. More details on the election to follow.
