The Foundational Training Program for Peer Leaders (FTP) is a two-part program that consists of i) online preparation course and ii) training workshop. Completion of FTP requires completion of the online preparation course AND attendance to one workshop. Please email s3german@uwaterloo.ca to get access to the LEARN materials.
Upon completion the Foundational Training Program, you will be able to:
- Recognize at least one perspective that's different from your own about being an effective peer leader.
- Articulate at least one skill relevant to your position that will foster your career readiness.
- Describe at least four components of being an effective peer leader relating to role expectations, communication skills, campus resources and making referrals, and creating an inclusive environment.
