Join Waterloo's immigration consultants to learn about the OINP and the current requirements to apply for permanent residency under the Masters Graduate Stream and PhD Graduate Stream.

The Foundational Training Program for Peer Leaders (FTP) is a two-part program that consists of i) online preparation course and ii) training workshop.

Upon completion the Foundational Training Program, you will be able to:
Join Waterloo's immigration consultants to learn about applying for a new temporary resident visa (TRV). If you are from a visa-required country, a valid TRV is required to re-enter Canada. After renewing your study or work permit, you may need to apply for a new TRV. We will discuss the application process, required documents, and how to mail your passport. There will also be information on inviting a family member to visit you in Canada on a TRV.
Join a representative from Service Canada to learn more about your Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN). This session will outline what a SIN is, why it is needed, how to protect yourself from fraud, and will also explain the process for applying for a SIN online.
