Presentation Skills - Student Leadership ProgramExport this event to calendar

Tuesday, January 21, 2020 — 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM EST

What key elements make a speaker connect with an audience? Have you been in a situation where you have practiced and practiced what you were going to say and then felt after your presentation you had not related well to the audience?

Establishing how you are going to say something is just as important – and it is the first step to becoming an authentic speaker. Public speaking skills are important for all members of a team - leaders and followers. The art of connecting and listening to your audience will be explored in this workshop in addition to learning some communication patterns that you can practice within the variety of clubs, groups, and teams in which you're involved.

By the end of this workshop, you will have the ability to:

  • Understand that voice, emotions and body are the core elements of a presentation.
  • Recognize different strategies I can use to help me be an authentic speaker.
  • Feel more comfortable giving a presentation in front of peers.

Registration for this workshop opens on Monday, January 6.
