The French Minor is an excellent way for students across campus to add practical and professional language skills to their evolving skillsets. University of Waterloo students enrolled in any degree program may pursue a minor designation in French, which will help them develop their skills in written and spoken French as well as broaden their cultural understanding of French and Francophone society.
The French Minor requires 8 French courses (4.0 units) including the below 3 required FR courses:
- FR 276 - Introduction to Literature: Quebec and French Canada
- FR 296 - French Culture & Literature: Origins to 1715
- FR 297 - French Culture & Literature: 1715 to the Present
