The Department of French Studies at the University of Waterloo offers a wide variety of excellent undergraduate studies programs (French Teaching Specialization, Honours, Arts and Business/French, Minors, Diplomas) and graduate studies programs (M.A. and Ph.D.). If you wish to study and live in French, our Department should be part of your career plans!

Various exchange programs in Québec and France will also allow you to experience these rich cultures first hand. Our programs respond to student needs, ranging from French language improvement to career preparation (teaching, business, public service, etc.) or cutting edge research.
