Story Map "Swipe" and "Spyglass" is an ArcGIS online application that enables users to interact with two web maps or two layers. The Geospatial Centre used this application to give a visual comparison between Kitchener between 1955 and present.
To better serve our patrons, the Geospatial Centre has two new computers dedicated to Geographic Information System (GIS). In total we now have six GIS workstations in the Centre.
Received from the Region of Waterloo updated residential and business building permits (issued to May 1st, 2016), as well as updated addresses and roads,
The air photos digitalization project has now been updated with 1966 air photos supplementing those areas within the Region of Waterloo not covered by 1963.
Received from the City of Kitchener, municipal data updates for 2016. Included with the data package are new files: bridges (Ontario Structure Inspection Manual), impervious areas (parking lots, walkways, driveways) and storm water drainage area.
Received from Toronto, 2006 infrared, colour and panchromatic imagery covering the entire city of Toronto. Imagery was captured in October 2006, and processed at a ground resolution of 5 metres.

Received from the City of Kitchener, 2015 municipal data updates. Included are new data files for "planning intensification areas", "neighbourhood associations" and "storm bridge/ reaches".
