Dr. Seulbi Lee-Lougen [sʰɯlbi liː loʊ.ɡən] is a postdoctoral scholar at the Hart Lab, developing the Early Literacy Screener for British Columbia. She completed her PhD in Special Education at the University of Oregon in Spring 2026. Previously, she was an elementary special education teacher in Washington D.C. Her research focuses on reading comprehension, literacy assessments, and multimodal and technology-enhanced evidence-based practices. She specializes in developing inclusive assessments for learners from diverse linguistic and learning profiles, including learners with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities. She explores how to create equitable assessment tools and practices that support struggling readers.

She is also interested in broadening her research to international inclusive education and disability awareness in literacy. She publishes quarterly columns in Special Education in Practice, affiliated with the National Institute of Special Education of South Korea.

She is an avid reader (10+ books/month), a crochet enthusiast, and a baseball fan who also enjoys exploring local food and activities with her partner or snuggling with furry babies!
