Member discounts

Faculty members at Waterloo—regardless of FAUW membership status—are eligible for a range of discount programs and other benefits.

National discount programs

Faculty represented by FAUW are also members of CAUT (the Canadian Association of University Teachers) and OCUFA (the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations). Both organizations offer discount programs.

Edvantage

Through the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations, you have access to the national Edvantage program. (This is where you get the discounted Goodlife membership.)

How to sign up for the Edvantage program

  1. Fill out the registration form on the OCUFA website.

  2. You'll receive an Edvantage number, but won't be enrolled in the program for about one week (OCUFA submits new enrolments on Fridays). At that point, your number will start working.
  3. You'll receive your Edvantage card in the mail in approximately two weeks.

CAUT affinity program

Through the Canadian Association of University Teachers, FAUW members are eligible for their affinity program, which provides discounts on hotels, car rentals, airport parking, and various insurance plans.

As a Waterloo employee, you're eligible for a Grand River Transit (GRT) corporate pass.
