FSL Bursaries (2023)

Description

You have been invited to apply to one of the Department of French Studies’ “French as a Second Language” bursaries. These scholarships are offered by the Government of Canada through Canadian Heritage and ACUFC [Association des collèges et des universités de la francophonie canadienne]. This program has been implemented under the Action Plan for Official Languages 2018-2023 (APOL) – Investing in Our Future. The federal government made a commitment to promoting a bilingual Canada, in particular, by supporting young English-speaking Canadians in the pursuit of their postsecondary studies in French. Criteria for eligibility

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
  • Be at least 17 years old by the application deadline
  • Have completed secondary school studies in an English-language institution
  • Have English as the first official language spoken
  • Enrolled in full-time studies at the University of Waterloo
  • Enrolled in the French Honours, French Teaching Specialization (co-op or regular), or French and Francophone Literatures and Cultures Specialization (co-op or regular)
