The School of Planning is excited to launch the next video in the Planning Research in Action Series. This week, we are showcasing Dr. Luna Khirfan and her research about land reclamation. Learn about water resources in Canada as Dr. Khirfan outlines the impacts of land reclamation in Charlottetown, P.E.I. and the efforts Zürich, Switzerland has made on their water systems.

The School of Planning is pleased to congratulate Divankshi Gandhi for winning the School of Planning Website Scavenger Hunt. On August 25th, the School hosted an Undergraduate Welcome Event, in which a Website Scavenger Hunt was launched. Students were given until the end of the month to explore the University of Waterloo online resources and submit webpage links corresponding with each prompt. Divankshi was successful in providing all correct answers, and has proved her ability to navigate our online resources. Thank you, Divankshi, for your participation. 

Kaitlyn Webber, Emma McDougall, Sam Petrie took their research about the social and economic impact of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in Waterloo Region to the global stage this June, where they particpated in a problem-based pitch competition hosted by Oxford University. 

Webber, MA in Planning, and McDougall, PhD in Planning were encouraged to explore this research opportunity and were soon referred to Petrie, a PhD candidate in Health Sciences at Carleton University, and an alumnus of the Department of Knowledge Integration.

The School of Planning is pleased to congradulate Siya Agarwal for recieving the Planning Award for Distinguished Academic Achievement. Presented anually at Spring convocation, this recognition of academic excellence is given to the top graduating student from each academic plan.

The School of Planning is pleased to introduce the Planning Research in Action series. Coming to your screens every Friday, a new research video will be launched on the University of Waterloo's Environment YouTube channel.

With the start of the Fall term, clubs, services, and student societies at the University of Waterloo want you to get involved!
