Smartphone gaming can be harmful for some seeking relief from boredom

Amy Barron wins RHR Kendall Award for Best Student Paper.
Congratulations to Industrial-Organizational Area graduate student Amy Barron who won the 2021 RHR Kendall Award for Best Student Paper. This prize is awarded annually by the I-O Division of Canadian Psychological Association, supported by RHR International, in honour of Dr. Lorne Kendall, a Canadian psychologist whose work contributed greatly to the field of I-O psychology. The award comes with a plaque and $1000 prize.

Congratulations to Ryan Yeung, Brady Roberts, and Samantha-Ayers Glassey for their awards at this years Canadian Society for Brain, Behaviour, and Cognitive Science (CSBBCS) conference! The Psychology Department had an amazing showing on the podium with 3/4 student awards going to University of Waterloo students this year.
