Creed-based housing accommodations

Process for Requesting Creed-based/Religious Housing Accommodations

We are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive community where students of all faiths and creeds feel safe and supported.

Students are encouraged to submit creed-based accommodation requests at the same time that you are applying for residence. Early disclosure allows us to explore room options that best support your needs.

Please note that the process for requesting creed-based housing accommodations is for students who plan to live with Campus Housing. Students who live/are living with Conrad Grebel University College, St. Jerome’s University, Renison University College, or United College are encouraged to contact the college directly.

If you require creed-based housing accommodations:

  1. Download and print off the Accommodation Request Form – Statement of Creed/Religious Belief(s).
  2. Upload your completed form below.

What happens next?

  • Within 15 business days, your accommodation request will be reviewed.
  • If your request is approved, Campus Housing will implement necessary accommodations while considering the types of residences available. A Housing Advisor will connect with you by email about any accommodations and next steps.

Residence assignment:

  • For students who submit a creed-based accommodation request by June 8, we will take approved creed-based accommodations into account when making your residence assignment.
  • If you submit a creed-based accommodation request after receiving a room assignment, we will review available spaces to determine whether a reassignment is possible for any approved accommodations. Some accommodations may be limited depending on availability.

  • If you have already moved in, you will need to connect with your Residence Life Coordinator to discuss the potential for a room change. If requesting a room change due to a creed-based housing accommodation, you will need to follow the process outlined above.

If you also require  accessible accommodations due to a medical condition or documented disability, you are encouraged to visit the  Accessible Housing website and follow the instructions on how to apply and upload documentation.

Please refrain from resubmitting your application if you have not yet received accommodation information from a Housing Advisor. Resubmitting may cause delays in processing your application. You will be contacted by a Housing Advisor after your application is reviewed.
