Next Steps after Move-in
Now that you've moved into your room here are a few things you'll need to do!
At Campus Housing, we provide a safe, accessible, clean and supportive environment where you can succeed personally and academically. If you need anything while staying in our residences, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Step 1: Set up your Wireless Internet
Use your QUEST ID (userid@uwaterloo.ca) and password to log into the wireless network eduroam.
If you're having trouble using wireless or the wired port in your room, contact Residence IT Service.
Step 2: Tell us how we did
You'll receive a survey via email asking for your feedback on your move-in experience - please let us know how we did so we can continue to improve our service for you and future students.
Step 3: Connect with your Don
Get to know your Don! You will receive a welcome message from your Don. Make sure to attend your community meeting to connect with others in residence.
Step 4: Reach out to Maintenance (if needed)
You may have questions as you move into your new space and our facilities may be a bit different than at home.
If something isn’t working properly or there is a serious facilities issue, please email the appropriate maintenance contact. In your email, include:
- Your name,
- Student number,
- Unit/bedroom number,
- A description of the maintenance concern – include pictures as possible.
An email to maintenance provides permission for us to enter your room.
If you have an emergency maintenance concern, please visit or call the nearest Front Desk
Step 5: Update Your Mailing Address
To send mail to your new residence unit, use the addresses listed on this page (under "Mailing Addresses”). Each residence building has a different mailing address, so ensure you are using the correct one.
You must include your full name (as it appears on your Watcard) and your unit number or room number in the mailing address. The Front Desks only accepts mail for current residents; missing information may result in mail being denied or returned if addressed incorrectly.
Residence mail is accepted at the Front Desk and processed into a tracking system. Once it has been processed by the Front Desk Assistants, it is ready for collection. Residents will receive an automated email at their UWaterloo email address. Please do not visit the Front Desk to collect mail until after you have received a notification from the Front Desk of your parcel's arrival.
Packages for V1, MKV, REV, and MHR residents in the Fall and Winter terms are delivered to the MKV Front Desk. Envelope mail is held at a resident's “home” Front Desk (note: MHR's “home” Front Desk in the Fall/Winter terms is V1).
