Next Steps after Move-in

girl sitting on her floor in her residence room.

At Campus Housing, we provide a safe, accessible, clean and supportive environment where you can succeed personally and academically. If you need anything while staying in our residences, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Now that you've moved into your room here are a few things you'll need to do.

Step 1: Set up your Wireless Internet

Use your QUEST ID (userid@uwaterloo.ca) and password to log into the wireless network eduroam.

If you're having trouble using wireless or the wired port in your room, contact Residence IT Service.

Step 2: Tell us how we did

You'll receive a survey via email asking for your feedback on your move-in experience - please let us know how we did so we can continue to improve our service for you and future students.

Step 3: Connect with your Don

Get to know your Don! You will receive a welcome message from your Don on Microsoft Teams. Make sure to attend your community meeting to connect with others in residence.

Step 4: Reach out to Maintenance (if needed)

You may have questions as you move into your new space and our facilities may be a bit different than at home. The odd insect, fly or spider is normal, and we try our best to have everything in working order for move in.

If something isn’t working properly or there is a serious pest issue, please email the appropriate maintenance contact (found on your lanyard!) your name, student number, unit, and description/pictures as needed. An email to maintenance provides permission for us to enter your room.

*If it is an emergency, please visit your Front Desk.

Step 5: Chance to win!

Once you have completed all your next steps, place your Next Steps card (received at move in) in the ballot box at your front desk for a chance to win a Campus Housing prize pack! Make sure to drop your ballot at the front desk before September 15.
