Want a break from cafeteria food at your residence dining hall? Look no further! UW Food Services is excited to announce Food Truck Wednesdays! Every Wednesday between June 7th and July 26th from 11:00am – 2:30pm, you can try some delicious new food in the Arts Quad in front of Dana Porter Library (DP), Arts Lecture Hall (AL), and the Modern Languages building (ML). “Food on Wheels” is a unique pop up designed to bring a fresh and local twist to your daily dining routine.

“Food Services is happy to announce our Spring term “Wednesday Food Truck” program.  As part of our ongoing commitment to improve the student experience and help create community on campus, we are  hoping that this program will add value and generate excitement around food for students, faculty and staff working on campus”.

1. Try Something New!

Current food truck offerings include Passado Brazil, El Milagro, Pablas Street Food of India and BBQs through Catering & Events Services. Here’s why our food trucks will transform your campus experience:

Passado Brazil

Take your taste buds on a trip to Brazil! The Passado Brasil food truck serves up delicious Brazilian cuisine with a Canadian twist. Offerings include several variations of pasteis—a delicious deep-fried pastry filled with various savoury or sweet fillings which are typically enjoyed as a popular street food in Brazil. On their menu you can also find coxinhas and fries! Coxinhas are a popular Brazilian street food with a shredded chicken interior shaped into a teardrop shape, coated in dough, and deep-fried to a golden crispy perfection. A Pasteis Fried Pastry from Passado Brazil's Food Truck

El Milagro

Their menu features fresh burritos, tacos, and nachos, with their standout Loco Burrito boasting a mouthwatering combination of steak, chorizo, bacon, black beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and aioli.

Pabla’s Street Food of India

Diversify your palette with some Indian street food from Pabla’s Street Food of India offering up Butter Chicken and Channa Masala on rice and crispy Samosas with Chutney. For Indian food with a Canadian twist try their Butter Chicken Poutine! And if you’re feeling thirsty, why don’t you try their Mango Lassi—a refreshing Indian beverage made by blending ripe mangoes with yogurt, sugar, and a hint of cardamom, resulting in a creamy and fruity cold drink perfect for those hot summer days. butter chicken poutine

2. Convenience & Speed

When midterms are around the corner, busy college schedules often leave little time for a sit-down meal. Food trucks are the ultimate solution, offering quick and efficient service. You can grab a bite to eat in between classes or fuel up before an important study session. No more long waits or rushing to beat the lunch rush!

3. Community Gathering Spaces

Food Truck Wednesdays will serve as more than just a place for students to grab a bite to eat between classes. Located in the Arts Quad, Food Truck Wednesdays will provide a centralised centre for students to grab a bite to eat, catch up with friends and soak in those summer rays! It is our hope that our food trucks will help build a lively centre where students can gather, connect, and build a sense of community by trying new, diverse cuisines.

4. Supporting Local

At UW Food Services, we care about sustainable practices and that’s why we support local. By partnering up with local vendors and food trucks to bring tasty new food to campus, we create a more sustainable community that can grow together. Each truck represents a small business, operated by passionate individuals who are eager to share their culinary creations with you.
