En tant qu’étudiante et qu’assistante d’enseignement, l’occasion de faire partie d’une communauté francophone si dynamique a été l’une des expériences les plus marquantes de mon parcours universitaire.
Grâce au programme d’Honours French, ainsi qu’un échange d’un an à l’Université de Lausanne en Suisse, ma passion et mon zèle pour les études française ont été avivés. Ma formation a également enrichi ma compréhension des cultures francophones et des histoires vivantes qui sont entrecroisées avec cette belle langue.
Je tiens à exprimer ma profonde reconnaissance et mes sincères remerciements aux professeur·e·s et au personnel qui constituent le cœur de notre département de français. C’était un grand privilège d’être étudiante dans vos salles de classe, tout en affinant mes compétences petit à petit avec votre soutien bienveillant !
Je serai toujours fière de terminer mon baccalauréat en français et en anglais (littérature et rhétorique) à l’Université de Waterloo ! Mon premier cycle universitaire continuera de me porter vers un avenir brillant pendant ma maîtrise en études françaises et la formation d’enseignement.
Being part of this vibrant francophone community as both a student and a TA has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my undergraduate journey.
My time at Waterloo—along with a year-long exchange at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland—not only deepened my appreciation for the French language, but broadened my perspective on the dynamic cultures and histories it embodies.
I would also like to express my most sincere gratitude to the professors and staff I’ve had the pleasure of learning from, all of whom form the heart and soul of our French department.
I will always be proud to be an Honours French and Honours English (Literature & Rhetoric) double major—a foundation that will carry me forward on the convocation stage, throughout my MA in French Studies, and beyond as I pursue a future in teaching.
