Waterloo Residences acknowledges that we live and work on the traditional territory of ‎the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes ten kilometers on each side of the Grand River.

  3. Oct. 19, 2017Waterloo Residences holds grand opening for the New Residence Building in UW PlaceGrand Opening

    As university stakeholders, staff and students looked on, the ribbon was cut on Waterloo Residences' newest residence - Mackenzie King Village being the last residence built 15 years ago.

    Feridun Hamdullahpur (University of Waterloo President), Glen Weppler (Director of Housing), Chris Read (Associate Provost, Students) and Daniel Parent (University Architect) were joined by Jill Knight (Federation of Students VP Internal) and Michelle Folinas (ResLife Don) who officially opened the New Residence Building. While now officially open, the residence has been occupied since September 3, 2017 where it was built on time and under budget for move-in weekend.
