Course requirements for Cognitive Neuroscience

PhD students in Cognitive Neuroscience must complete a total of 12 courses.

  • One mandatory statistics course in Psychology (PSYCH 632) 
  • One other statistics & design course chosen from this list: PSYCH 630, 800, 801, 803, 804
  • One Fundamentals of Cognitive Neuroscience (PSYCH 677A) 
  • One Human Neuroanatomy (PSYCH 784) 
  • Four CNS core courses chosen from this list:
    • Cognitive Neuropsychology (PSYCH 779A)
    • Cognitive Neuroscience of Memory and Aging (PSYCH 781)
    • Visual Neuroscience (PSYCH 782)
    • Neuroimaging of Cognition (PSYCH 783)
    • Attention and the Brain (PSYCH 785)
    • Epidemiologic Methods in Aging Research (PSYCH 788)
    • Mind Wandering and Inattention (PSYCH 789)
    • Case Studies in Neuropsychology (PSYCH 790)
    • Real and Virtual Spaces (PSYCH 791)
    • Methods in Computational Neuroscience (PSYCH 792)
    • Cognitive Neuroscience of Face Perception (PSYCH 794)
  • Four breadth courses from other research areas. 

In addition students must attend the Cognitive Neuroscience seminar (PSYCH 707).
