University of Waterloo Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience (CTN), the Cognitive Science Program, and Faculty of Arts proudly bring you the 14th annual Brain Day!

The brain is a horrendously complex and poorly understood system that poses both an immense challenge - and possibly rich rewards - to neuroscientists, psychologists, philosophers, and computer scientists. To celebrate Waterloo's Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience, which integrates these approaches to the brain, and to highlight the already established Cognitive Science Program, we have invited four internationally renowned speakers to present generally accessible lectures from each of these perspectives: Viktor Jirsa- Director of research at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), Director of the Institut de Neuroscience des Systèmes (INS UMR1106) and Co-Director of the Fédération Hospitalo-Universitaire (FHU), Frances Egan- Professor of Philosophy at Rutgers University, Lila Davachi- Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at Columbia University and Jacqueline Gottlieb- Professor of Neuroscience at Columbia University.

This free event will take place at DC 1302. Complimentary refreshments and coffee/tea will be available at 8:30am with the first talk beginning at 9am.

See you there!
