Title: Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD and Enhancing Relationships
Location: PAS 2083
Reception to follow in PAS 3005
Abstract:
This talk will include an overview of an evidence-based, manualized form of Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy (CBCT) designed to simultaneously improve PTSD and enhance relationship functioning (Monson & Fredman, 2012). The presentation aims to deepen students’ and clinicians’ abilities to conceptualize individual mental health problems within an interpersonal context and use these specific interventions to improve the individual and intimate lives of their clients. Videorecorded clips of therapy sessions will be presented to illustrate key interventions. Research supporting the efficacy of CBCT, and future directions for study, will be reviewed.
