Tobacco use is the number one preventable cause of death in the world and is projected to kill one billion people this century.

Find out how psychology professor and founder of the International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project (ITC Project), Geoffrey Fong is using research evidence to strengthen and defend tobacco control efforts around the world, and support stronger policies where needed.

The ITC Project, created in 2002 and centred at Waterloo, conducts longitudinal studies to evaluate the impact of tobacco control policies in 28 countries inhabited by over half of the world's population and over two-thirds of the world's tobacco users.
