Enrolment policies

HRM applies the following enrolment policies:

  • Overrides are not granted for HRM 200; students need to self-enrol. Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of pre-enrolment and open enrolment opportunities as both sections of the course fill up early.
  • Overrides will not be granted for courses that have reached enrolment capacity.
  • HRM instructors do not sign course override forms. Course reserves may be adjusted throughout the open enrolment period, but reserved seats will not be granted by override. It is the student's responsibility to check Quest for any changes in the enrolment status of a course.
  • Students will not be permitted to enrol after the course 'Add' deadline for the term. Spaces that remain unfilled or that become available because of course drops after the deadline are not treated as new opportunities for students to join a course.
  • Students requesting an exception to any of the above must submit their request in writing to the HRM Academic Advisor clearly outlining why they believe an academic exception should be made.

Enrolment advice

  • Students are encouraged to take AFM 123 early in their HRM Minor program to minimize the chance of time conflicts with HRM courses. Also, please be advised that not all HRM plan courses are offered every term.
  • Check Quest often in case seats become available due to drops and/or adjustments in reserve restrictions.
  • Enrol in a back-up course and then use the 'swap' feature in Quest so you don't risk losing your seat.
  • Submit your HRM application (see 'Apply Now') at least two weeks in advance of pre-enrolment or open enrolment opportunities to allow sufficient time for your application to be processed.
