HRM 301 Winter 2008: this course is filling up quickly and I anticipate a wait list. Enroll as soon as possible to avoid disappointment (course code 4876).

Psych courses for Winter 2008: please email me directly your Psych course requests for Winter term. Include your full name, ID#, program, year, course to add, course to drop if necessary, reason for the request.

Students in the Masters or Doctoral Program specialize in one of seven areas, namely: Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Management Science, Marketing, Managerial Economics and Organizational Behaviour.

Associate Dean, Julian Barling will do a presentation and then there will be a question and answer period. We hope to have alumni present to answer any questions you might have.

Check Quest for the date/time of your enrolment appointment. If you miss your enrolment appointment you won’t have access to Quest again to sign up for Winter courses until Oct. 22. 

Attention Honours Psych students - Psych 465 and 467 for Winter 2008

Psych 465 (Applied Apprenticeship)

PSYCH 467 (Human Resources Apprenticeship) – New course approved by senate - this course will count as an "elective" in the "HRM Specialization for Honours Psych students"

Course applications for these courses are still being accepted and the forms are on the Psychology courses website.

Class Enrolment for Fall 2007
Enrolment appointments begin June 11th. Check QUEST for the date/time of your appointment. If you miss your enrolment appointment you will have to wait until open enrolment June 30th at which time many of the classes will be full and/or have wait lists. HRM students are given priority enrolment in some courses but even with the HRM reserves I can't guarantee you a space if the class is already full.

ENGL 210F Fall 2007
Again Engl 210F Fall 2007 will only be offered Distance Ed and there are no reserve spaces for HRM students. Because a number of courses on the HRM plans are no longer offered and others have high prerequisites we have submitted plan changes which will take effect September 2008 (i.e., students entering HRM plans Sept 2008 or later will be required to follow these 'new' requirements). If you are enrolled in an HRM plan (especially the Minor and Option) and are having difficulty completing your course requirements please contact me to discuss alternatives.

HRM 301
I am pleased to report that HRM 301 (Strategic Planning) will be offered Winter 2008. This course is currently scheduled for Wed evenings 6:30-9:20pm and will have an enrollment cap of 100. The prerequisite for this course will be "HRM 200, Level at least 3A". Further details will follow. We will be submitting this course to HRPA for approval toward the CHRP designation.

Changes to Academic Plans
Remember it is your responsibility to contact me if/when there is a change to your academic plan (i.e., Honours to Three or Four Year General plans) so I can determine your HRM plan eligibility. Some students have not notified me of these changes only to learn after they've submitted their Intent to Graduate that they are not eligible for the HRM plan they were following.
