Grand Valley Human Resources Professionals Association Award - 2011 Recipient

Congratulations to Keri Martin, recipient of the 2011 Grand Valley Human Resources Professional Association Award!

Keri is currently in her fourth year at uWaterloo completing a degree in Honours Psychology - HRM Specialization, Arts & Business Co-op.

During her time at uWaterloo Keri has demonstrated her passion for and commitment to human resources through her course work, her co-op placements, and her volunteer and extracurricular activities.

During her work terms Keri has held HR positions at Microsoft Canada, EDGE Business Consultant in Scotland, Procom in Kitchener Waterloo, Thevco Electronics in St-Hubert, Quebec, and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure in Toronto. In Fall 2010 she completed a Business and French Exchange Program at Universite Paris 3 in Paris, France. This term she is completing an HR Apprenticeship with Dalsa Corp in Waterloo, and a Directed Studies project in Industrial Psychology with Professor John Michela.

Keri is a member of the Grand Valley Human Resources Professional Association. In addition, she is an Executive Member of DECA, which seeks to enhance education in business and marketing. She is a Student Ambassador with uWaterloo, and was previously a Peer Leader, planning academic programs for a living-learning community of students. Keri has also been a Residence Don. She is also a member of our 2011 Excalibur team, currently undergoing many many hours of training every week since the beginning of January in preparation for the National Excalibur Competition being held March 18-19 in Montreal.

Keri is currently looking for full-time work in a Human Resources role. She will be taking courses over the summer as she continues to pursue her CHRP. After gaining a few years of experience in HR she would like to obtain an MBA focusing on Human Resources and Leadership.
