Holographic Duality for Quantum Gravity at the Canonical Level
An essential guiding principle emergent from research on quantum gravity is the holographic principle. In this proposal, I address the motivations and background materials for constructing a new realization of holographic duality within a recently-built quantum gravity framework. I first review the canonical loop quantum gravity approach and its deformation to include a negative cosmological constant in the Euclidean signature, and then review the current stage of research on holographic duality in quantum gravity. Finally I give a report on the progress made to date and future research plans.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
