Torin Young is the Lab Manager and Research Coordinator for the Cognition and Perception Unit. Torin received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Waterloo. Having worked for many of the Cognitive Labs as a research assistant in his undergraduate years, he pursued a Masters degree in cognitive psychology with a focus on Psycholinguistics. Though mostly focused on administrative work, Torin's research interests focus on how linguistic features of lectures are associated with students' outcomes, as well as a focus on the effects that various linguistic features on reading.
In his spare time, Torin plays electric bass in two local metal bands and has a general passion for music (e.g., collecting various physical media, the history of rock n' roll music)
