COVID-19: UW Food Services Meal Plans

We continue to monitor the evolving situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. While we continue to work closely with our Housing partners and residence community, here is an update as it pertains to Food Services meal plans on campus.

Unused Resident Meal Plan Dollars

Any remaining balance will automatically be transferred to a Transfer Campus Meal Plan, which are funds that remain on your Watcard that can be used the next time you’re back on campus in any Food Services locations.

Meal Plan Overhead

For those students with a Residence mandatory meal plan and have officially vacated their UW Housing their residence before March 31st 2020, Food Services will refund a prorated amount of your meal plan overhead deduction*, based on Food Service overhead refund guidelines. Refunds will appear as a credit on your student account at a later date.

*Overhead deduction for the 2020 Winter term is $1,196, which does not include funds for Capital Improvement and Resident Dining Program Enhancement.  Please also note that you won’t be eligible for a refund after March 31st, 2020

Value Plus Meal Plans

Any remaining balance will automatically be transferred to a Campus Casual Meal Plan, which are funds that remain on your Watcard that can be used the next time you’re back on campus.

If you are graduating or withdrawing from University of Waterloo
