2025 SSHRC and NSERC Grants awarded to researchers in Psychology
Waterloo researchers are receiving more than $32 million to support research as part of a $1.3 billion Government of Canada announcement for research across Canada. The funding announced for Waterloo researchers includes support from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Government of Canada’s New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF).
This year, 25 researchers in the Faculty of Arts received SSHRC Insight Development Grants, SSHRC Insight Grants, and NSERC Discovery Grants. Please join us in congratulating our colleagues in Psychology:

- Derek Koehler, Click: Sense-making processes underlying inferential reasoning and decision-making
- Evan Risko, Basic processes in the monitoring and control of cognition
