Grand Valley HRPA Annual Award:
The 2010 Grand Valley Human Resources Professional Annual Award information is now available. Full details about the award, eligibility, application information, and deadlines is on the HRM website.

HRM Survey
In the next few days each of you will receive an email from me regarding a survey we are conducting to ascertain the quality and future of the HRM program at Waterloo. We ask that each of you please consider completing the survey. Your responses will be greatly appreciated and very helpful to us in determining what we can do now and in future to better the program and best serve your needs.

Queen's University Information Session is scheduled:

Students in the Masters or Doctoral Program specialize in one of seven areas, namely: Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Management Science, Marketing, Managerial Economics and Organizational Behaviour.

Winter 2010 enrolment appointments
A reminder to check Quest for the date and time of your Winter 2010 enrolment appointment. Appointments are Oct 12-27, 2009.

BUS 414, 448, 464 (Health and Safety, Compensation, Labour Relations)
These are the three remaining courses required for the CHRP designation and mentioned as 'WLU special topics' courses on the HRM Academic Plan pages. These courses may be counted as electives toward your HRM plan requirements.

Effective 25 June 2009 the Laurier Business Office has agreed to waive the BUS 121W pre-requisite for these courses. The pre-requisites have been revised to:
"BUS 354 or (HRM 200; One of AFM 131, BUS 111; One of BUS 288, MSCI 211, PSYCH 338)".

For students who haven't taken AFM 131 (or Arts & Bus students who can't take AFM 131), BUS 111 is offered every term and is available for pre-enrolment.

BUS 414, 448, 464 are all being offered Winter 2010. Students with all the above pre-requisites can self-enroll on Quest during their Winter 2010 enrolment appointment. READ CAREFULLY THE INFORMATION IN THE UG CALENDAR REGARDING ENROLLING IN BUS COURSES.

Offered through Office for Human Development (OHD) – register now for Fall 2009 on the OHD website.

October 2009 Convocation
Congratulations and best wishes to 27 students graduating with an HRM plan at October Convocation!

The Psych 465/467 application has been extended to Friday September 25, 2009 (see further information and link in the 25 June 2009 section below)

June 25, 2009

Winter 2010 pre-enrolment is June 29 through July 5, 2009. We STRONGLY advise you to pre-enrol for your Winter courses as many courses are already full when enrolment appointments start.

Psych 439 - Negotiation in the Workplace: Theory and Practice - will be offered Winter 2010. Note that "Psych Majors only" prerequisite has been removed from the course. Students in HRM, Arts and Business, and Psychology plans have found this course informative and stimulating, and have said they would recommend the course to other uWaterloo students.

Psych 467 - Human Resources Apprenticeship - Winter 2010 course applications are due to Theresa no later than 4pm Friday July 10, 2009. UPDATE: As of July 14, 2009 the Psych 465/467 application deadline has been extended to Monday August 31, 2009

A reminder that the deadline to apply for the 2009 Grand Valley HRPA Award is 4pm February 13, 2009.

Spring 2009 enrolment appointments are February 9-14. Check Quest for the date and time of your appointment.

Information about York's PhD program in Human Resources Management is available on York University website. Deadline for application is February 15, 2009.
