Declaring a Psychology Minor

Ideally, you should declare a Psychology Minor in year 2 rather than later years because those officially enrolled in the Psychology Minor can take advantage of reserved space in PSYCH courses (when applicable) and priority on waiting lists for enrolment in PSYCH courses (when applicable).

Check the official restrictions of your home Faculty regarding enrolment in a Minor.

To add a Psychology Minor all of the following criteria must be met:

  1. satisfactory academic standing in the primary academic plan(s),
  2. successful completion of at least 4.0 academic units (meaning year 2 standing or beyond),
  3. successful completion of PSYCH 101 or PSYCH 101R,
  4. cumulative psychology average of at least 65%.

To declare this minor, submit a signed and completed Plan Modification Form to the Psychology Undergraduate Office Drop Box (3rd floor across from the elevator). You can also drop the form off to the PSYCH Minor Advisor (Torin Young) in PAS 3008 or email it to him at tpyoung@uwaterloo.ca
