Dr. Mazen Melibari, Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Umm Al-Qura University in Saudi Arabia, has been recognized by MIT Technology Review (Arabic version) as among the 30 most prominent experts in artificial intelligence in the Arab world for the year 2022.
Dr. Melibari obtained his PhD in computer science in 2016 at the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Cheriton School of Computer Science Professors Pascal Poupart and Edward Lank.
MIT’s recognition includes AI experts in the public, private and academic sectors across the Arab world. The list highlights the 30 leaders, entrepreneurs and researchers who have expanded adoption of artificial intelligence techniques, launched start-ups based on this technology, and advanced research.
Dr. Melibari is also a Senior Research and Innovation Engineer at the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE). His research interests are in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science.
