Math and computer science teachers from across the globe gather at the University of Waterloo for professional development

The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is pleased to announce that they will be hosting the Bridges conference in 2017.

Two faculty members from the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science have been elected to leadership positions in the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

PhD student, Carol Fung (Raouf Boutaba) received the Best

Dissertation Award last week at the IFIP/IEEE Integrated Network Management Symposium, in Ghent, Belgium for her PhD thesis, "Design and Management of Collaborative Intrusion Detection Networks."

The selection for this award is based on a submission

PhD student, Tiffany Inglis (Craig. S. Kaplan) was awarded second place in the graduate category at the 2013 Association for Computing Machinery Student Research Competition Grand Finals.

Professor Frank Tompa has been awarded an honourary degree by Halifax, Nova Scotia's Dalhousie University.

The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is pleased to announce, on behalf of the Graduate Committee's Scholarship Sub-committee, the winners of the very selective Type 1 David R. Cheriton Graduate Scholarship Awards for Spring 2013.

Rayman Preet Singh's "On Hourly Peak Load Prediction" (PDF) paper with labmates Peter Gao and Daniel Lizotte, won the best paper award at Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers SmartGridComm, November 2012.

Henry Shi, a 3A Computer Science student, has been awarded both a co-op student of the year award from the University of Waterloo and one of two national awards from the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education.
