Congratulations to Lei Chen, M. Tamer Özsu and Vincent Oria who were awarded the 2015 SIGMOD Test-of-Time Award at the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Management Of Data Conference this week, for their 2005 SIGMOD paper "Robust and Fast Similarity Search for Moving Object Trajectories."

annual
ACM SIGMOD conference
is
a
leading
international
forum
for
database
researchers,
practitioners,
developers,
and
users
to
explore
cutting-edge
ideas
and
results,
and
to
exchange
techniques,
tools,
and
experiences.
The
ACM
SIGMOD
Test
of
Time
Award
recognizes
the
best
paper
from
the
SIGMOD
proceedings
10
years
prior
(i.e.,
for
1998
the
1988
proceedings
will
be
consulted),
based
on
the
criterion
of
identifying
the
paper
that
has
had
the
most
impact
(research,
products,
methodology)
over
the
intervening
decade.
This
paper
is
chosen
by
the
SIGMOD
Awards
Committee.
This
