Computer science remains the University of Waterloo’s top-ranked subject internationally, coming in at 25th among the world’s top universities, according to the latest edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by subject released on April 6, 2022.
This is the second year in a row that computer science was the top-ranked subject at Waterloo and among the top 25 universities internationally.
In the report, QS evaluated and ranked more than 1,500 universities across 51 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas. Indicators for the subject rankings were drawn from a peer-review survey, employer survey and citations data.
Waterloo’s results generally held steady from last year, with computer science in the top 25, five subjects in the top 50 and 12 subjects in the top 100. The University also placed among the top five Canadian institutions in 13 subjects.
