Computer Science admission requirements for Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) high school students

Program requirements

Core Mathematics with extended Module 2 (Algebra and Calculus) with a minimum final grade of 5. Core English language is also required. Minimum final overall average of 4. Students are considered for admission on an individual basis.

The Admission Information Form is required for admission to this program.

General requirements

• Successful completion of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.
• English as a Second Language will not satisfy the academic English course requirement.
• University transfer credits for the HKDSE will not be considered at Waterloo.

Notes

• Participating in the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest and/or the Euclid Mathematics Contest is not required for admission, but writing one of these contests is required for some Faculty of Mathematics scholarships.
• You need to provide an English language test score if your four most recent years of full-time education have not been in an English language school system.
• Required courses completed more than three years ago may need to be updated. Email the admissions office for more information.
